Faecal Examination

Consistency of pooping is necessary for a healthy pet.

What: Faecal floatation is one of the common techniques used that spins the tube in a centrifugal (circular) manner in a laboratory or taking it on a slide to test under microscope.

When: Pets challenged with diarrhoea, straining, lack of appetite or vomiting

How: Examiner observes faeces and present parasites/foreign bodies aid the diagnosis process.

Why: To ensuring parasite prevention plan for a healthy pet or detecting infection once the pet is challenged.
