Job Summary:
Pharmacists will responsible for providing patient care and safety by identifying, preparing, storing, compounding and dispensing medications for patients. They assist veterinarian and other staff in making drug-related decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Care:
- The role of a pharmacist in a hospital is integral to providing quality patient care through dispensing medications, formulating and reformulating dosage forms, ensuring drug safety and preparing budgets for medications. They provide clinical pharmacy services to inpatients, emergency departments and outpatient clinics. Hospital pharmacists also provide their expertise in therapeutic drug monitoring and medication reconciliation to optimize patient outcomes. Examine animals to diagnose their health problems
- Pharmacists in hospitals deal with a ton of prescriptions. They have to be quick and accurate to make sure patients get the right medicines in the right amounts.
- Hospitals are fast-paced, and pharmacists need to work quickly, especially for urgent medicines needed in emergencies.
- Pharmacists need to make sure medicines are stored properly, given out correctly, and don’t cause harm to patients.
Adapting to technological advancements:
- Hospitals use a lot of technology, like electronic records and automated systems. Hospital pharmacists need to be comfortable with these tools while still focusing on taking care of patients.
Team collaboration:
- Pharmacists work closely with other veterinary professionals, making important decisions about medicines. They need to know everything about drugs and have a good sense of communication.

Client Interaction:

Record Keeping:
- Maintain detailed and accurate pharmacy records for all patients on software.
- Maintain all stock of pharmacy on regular basis in software.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards in veterinary medicine.
Emergency Care:
- Be available for on-call duties as required.
Professional Development:
- Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance expertise in veterinary pharmacy.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with veterinary physician, surgeon, assistants, and administrative staff to provide comprehensive care.
- Participate in staff meetings and continuing education to stay updated on the latest veterinary practices and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Diploma Pharmacy/Bachler of Pharmacy(B.Pharm) degree from an accredited pharmacy College.
- Valid pharmacy license to practice in India.
- Minimum of 2 and maximum of 7 years of experience in working in any hospital.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to animal care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily based in a veterinary hospital.
- May involve working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
